EARTH-TO-GO PLA™

Biodegradable Food Service has launched its new line of Earth-To-Go PLA cups, clamshells, portion/soufflé cups, salad bowls, and deli containers. Because the products are BPI certified to meet ASTM D6400 specifications, all items can be submitted to commercial compost facilities (where available) capable of processing according to ASTM D6400 specifications.

The availability of containers intended specifically for cold food and beverages is the inevitable complement to BDFS’s TaterWare, Earth Cups, and Earth Bowls designed primarily for hot foods and beverages. With the new line, the breadth of BDFS products becomes even more inclusive for operators that offer a wider range of portable food and beverage selections.

BIO WRAP™

Bio Wrap™ is a product made from cotton cellulose that has a high oxygen and low moisture barrier property; this means air can’t escape yet moisture can, eliminating moisture build-up and thereby extending the shelf life of many products. This cellulose Bio Wrap film can run on conventional equipment and be heat-sealed at temperatures of 180°F to 280°F during production or filling process; it can even be cold-sealable after opening, eliminating costly closures such as ziplock, clips or twist ties. The film can be custom tinted and printed with up to five colors using soy-based inks; contact us to find out more about our custom design program.

This cellulose film and the bags made from it are biodegradable and compostable. Bio Wrap™ meets the ASTM 6400 D standard for composting, so unlike foil bags that cannot be recycled and can only go into a landfill, this film degrades in commercial composting. It can even go into cold home composting and the garbage disposal.
