TaterWare Reaches Out . . .

koman-race-logoBiodegradable Food Service Company makes a commitment each year to donate to non-profit organizations that are particularly close to the heart of the family who created this company. Since breast cancer has afflicted several members of the Duffy and the Clutterham family, we have chosen to donate to the most effective and active cancer non-profits in the western U.S. san-fran-bay-area

We are presently corporate sponsors of the Susan G. Koman foundation in the Bay area and continue to donate to other Bay area cancer non-profits like Beats4Boobs, San Francisco’s Annual AIDS Walk and the San Francisco Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Because of San Francisco’s forward thinking policies to eliminate all petrochemical disposables from commercial industries, many merchants there have been a long-time supporters of the TaterWare and Earth Cup product line. Giving back to this earth-conscious community in a way that supports the causes that BDFS believes in is a mutually beneficial way to conduct responsible commerce.

Homeless shelters, At-Risk Kids programs in the schools, watershed clean-ups, and other charitable causes are among the many other beneficiaries of TaterWare’s contributions. Responsibly attending to the environment and its inhabitants continues to be our company’s tireless goal.

aids-walk-sign-2010"AIDS Walk San Francisco relies on the generosity of corporate sponsors to help reduce the costs of this massive grassroots fundraising event, which means that more money will go toward critical prevention, care, and advocacy programs administered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and more than 60 important Bay Area HIV/AIDS service organizations.

SDFS's donation of spoons and cups used at various check points and refreshment areas, helps to continue to make this event an efficient, successful, and fun Bay Area tradition."

AIDS-WALK-SIGN“On behalf of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the other Bay Area HIV/AIDS service organizations, and the thousands of people that they serve, we thank you for your amazing donation of compostable cups and biodegradable trash bags! As AIDS fundraising grows increasingly more challenging, we never forget how lucky we are to have committed partners like you in our community - your involvement is paramount to the success of AIDS Walk San Francisco and we are truly grateful for your continued participation and generous spirit.  In a climate of ever-decreasing public and private funding for AIDS service providers across the nation, it is truly inspiring to see  our community band together with new efforts to support people with HIV and AIDS here in the Bay Area.

I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve contributed to this event and I look forward to working with you again on AIDS Walk San Francisco 2010!”

Warmest regards,

Dianna Cavagnaro, Community Organizer

avon-logoBiodegradable Food Service has generously donated 100% of the compostable food service-ware needs to the San Francisco Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for 3 years in a row.  Through this generous donation we were able to really push past our previous boundaries and achieve waste diversion at a whole new level.“

 Thanks!

TSA-DISPLAY-KIDS"Dear Kevin & Lori,

Just wanted to send you a special thank you for sending us the TaterWare and Earth Cup samples. We got it just in time and the girls used it in their display.  It was great because the corn cups and paper goods we brought did not do well being handled by the airport baggage personnel. I attached a few pictures of the display, the girls, and their trophy!  They won third in the nation, which is a huge achievement because there are thousands of students in attendance from all over the country and more than 100 middle schools competed. The business card with your quote about not eating the TaterWare was a special touch:)TSA-KIDS-TROPHY

Our entire TSA Chapter learned a great deal about biodegradable products and we will certainly do our part to promote this alternative."

Thanks again,
